At Weeks Marine & Kiewit we are committed to “Nobody Gets Hurt”. We are looking for a safety manager to create, support, and audit our program that reinforces our commitment to safety.

Location This position is located in Guam. Residency or relocation to Guam is required.

Responsibilities

Managing the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.

Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level.

Recommending process and product safety features to reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.

Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance.

Monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coaching employees on correct behaviors.

Developing environmental health and safety training materials.

Tracking training records and safety training initiatives.

Interpreting safety regulations for the project.

Coordinating and presenting safety training including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and repertory.

Interfacing with OSHA officials/inspectors during site visits.

Qualifications

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.

CSP or CHST preferred. OSHA 30 required.

At least 5 years of experience managing safety on heavy civil construction projects.

Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, record keeping, and injury management.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

CPR/First Aid, EMT, OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications preferred.

Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.

Base Compensation $130,000 – $140,000 per year.
