Responsibilities The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a faculty member to provide inpatient care services in the Pediatric Neonatology Intensive Unit. Primary responsibilities include directing patient care for admitted patients, writing daily progress notes, submitting clinical charges, and overseeing fellows, residents, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and ancillary staff in providing care. The position will primarily be located in Corbin, KY.
Responsibilities also include participating in night and weekend on-call coverage as assigned by the clinical division chief, and providing individual teaching to pediatric residents and other health care professionals involved in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit care. Additionally, the role includes attending regional, national, and/or international scientific meetings and serving on Children\'s Hospital and College of Medicine committees as needed.
The Kentucky Children\'s Hospital features Eastern and Central Kentucky\'s only Level I pediatric trauma center, Level IV newborn (neonatal) intensive care unit, and pediatric intensive care unit, along with more than 30 advanced sub-specialty programs. The NICU is a 66-bed unit providing Level IV and intermediate care for the newborn, with neonatal transport capabilities and regional transport services.
Our NICU is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for at-risk newborn care. Patient care strategies include infant therapy and high frequency ventilation for preemies with breathing disorders.
