Position Summary The Senior Corporate Accountant will compile quarterly financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance. This role is responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including quarter‑end and year‑end closings, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, and cost transfers. This role will report to the Corporate controller and will include working with financial leadership team to execute the consolidation and reporting of multiple entities on a standalone and consolidated basis. Activities will include accounting for fixed assets, preparing bank reconciliations, accounting for insurance programs, and other financial analysis/reconciliation activities.
To support our team dynamic, the Senior Corporate Accountant is an in‑office position.
Salary Range:
$85,000.00 – $110,000.00/Annual
Essential Responsibilities
Manage complete financial accounting activities for multiple entities, including quarterly job profit calculations, account reconciliations, accrual entries, and financial statement preparation.
Complete accounting for Joint Ventures including consolidation of company interests and elimination of minority partner activity.
Complete all fixed asset accounting activities, including additions, disposals, depreciation for tax and book, and fixed asset account roll‑for‑wards.
Manage accounting for construction insurance charges to projects and payments to vendors.
Support Controller and Accounting Manager with annual financial audit and project‑based contract compliance audits.
Coordinate and assist resolution of cost coding issues arising from accounts payable team.
Provide outstanding service through timely and effective follow‑ups and communications with both internal and external customers.
Provide back‑up to other accounting staff and cross‑train in other accounting areas/activities.
Support departmental projects and data requests as needed.
Qualifications

Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, etc., with the ability to navigate and utilize these tools effectively within a network environment.
Professional Experience and Education
A working understanding of GAAP required.
A minimum of three (3) years of professional accounting experience, in a similar role required.
Professional experience in the construction industry, or related industries preferred.
Experience with, and a working knowledge of accounting software, such as JD Edwards Enterprise One, or similar ERP software preferred.
Prior fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field of study, required.
Physical And Mental Requirements
Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is a combination of being stationary and moving about the work location.
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
Must be able to climb stairs, to ascend and descend ladders, scaffold, inspect confined or underground spaces.
Hands/Arms: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Frequently operates machinery and will use hand/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position materials.
Sight: Specific vision abilities required – close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
Hearing: Must be able to work in proximity to loud equipment more than 50% of the time. Must be able to wear hearing protection, as necessary.
Speech: Ability to communicate laws, ordinances, plans, regulations, protocols, directives, and standard operating procedures related to project scope in English.
Lift/Carry: Must have the ability to lift or manipulate fifty pounds to a height of three feet and carry or push it 50‑100 feet.
Bending/Twisting: Frequent.
Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Must be able to regularly position self in a kneeling, crouching or crawling position for purpose of examining project work.
Must be able to physically access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review.
Work schedule must be flexible to allow for extended hours or off‑shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.
Must use independent judgment, organizational and critical thinking skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results.
