Position Summary

The Student Information System (SIS) Technical Team at Michigan State University is responsible for developing, integrating, and supporting enterprise student systems, including Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Oracle Student Financial Planning. The Information Technologist II/SIS Developer will develop, test, and implement software solutions of moderate complexity in PeopleCode, SQL, and related programming languages to meet functional requirements. Key responsibilities include implementing enhancements, resolving issues, optimizing performance, and improving the overall user experience. The role also involves developing database and API/integration designs, authoring technical specifications, and applying coding standards, version control, and best practices to ensure secure, high?quality solutions. The developer will actively engage in continuous learning to deepen technical skills while collaborating closely with analysts, functional partners, and technical colleagues. By delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions, this role directly supports operational excellence and advances MSUs mission and values. Responsibilities

Implement enhancements, resolve issues, and optimize performance in PeopleCode, SQL, and related programming languages. Collaborate with analysts, functional partners, and technical colleagues to meet functional requirements and meet user experience goals. Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to a four?year college degree program with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment. Three to five years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in a software development team using PeopleCode, SQL, JavaScript, or related programming languages. Desired Qualifications

Experience working in a software development team in a higher education environment, specifically in student administration areas related to academic advising, student records, admissions, financial aid, or student accounts. Experience with PeopleCode, SQL. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
