Role Summary Assists in drafting communication content and creates unit communications in support of unit communication goals. This position develops and implements social media strategies to raise public awareness of, understanding of, and appreciation for Ole Miss Women's Basketball with critical target audiences. The incumbent oversees the creation of content, the reporting and accuracy of analytical data related to social media content, manages the distribution of content for official athletics social media accounts, and drives/maintains engagement across social media platforms.
Examples of Work Performed
Day-to-day management and execution of Ole Miss Women's Basketball Social Media properties and other digital verticals.
Oversees distribution of content for official athletics social media accounts and other digital platforms.
Assistance in Main Athletics social media properties.
Conducts research on social media trends and audience preferences.
Game day coverage for Ole Miss Football on social media channels and Ole Miss digital verticals.
Creates, designs, and produces specialized content for social media platforms.
Oversight and thought leadership for Ole Miss Men's & Women's Tennis, SRE.
Maintains editorial calendar for social media platforms.
Develops presentations for the University community on social media use.
Provides guidance, training, and supervision to subordinate staff.
In-Season travel when sport assignment can accommodate post-season travel required.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions
Evaluates, researches and documents content sources according to established policies and procedures.
Receives and responds to general inquiries and individuals and groups according to established policies and procedures.
Writes and edits content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with unit goals.
Drafts and supports the authoring of a range of documents for use by internal and external audiences.
Reviews documents and communications for accuracy.
Assists in creating communication campaigns that align with work unit or program strategies.
Minimum Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
