Summary: The Chief Investment Officer is responsible for leadership and oversight of all Investment Committee meetings and activities at First Horizon Bank. This associate serves as a strategic leader, content creator, and expert presenter for investment and economic insights, driving the committee's efforts in asset allocation, performance evaluation, and manager due diligence, as well as keeping associates and clients informed and engaged with market developments.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Investment Committee Leadership: Direct all Investment Committee (IC) meetings and related activities, ensuring robust discussion and adherence to fiduciary standards.
Guide reviews of asset allocation, performance attribution, composite performance, and manager due diligence processes.
Market Analysis & Content Creation: Continuously monitor the macroeconomic and geopolitical environment to evaluate risks and opportunities.
Develop and author regular market content, including Macro Economic and Market updates.
Write and distribute Market News & Views Quarterly Client Update, Investment Insights, and Five Factor Framework communications.
Associate & Client Engagement: Host the First Friday Update Economic and Market Review meeting with Wealth Management associates.
Serve as lead speaker for Quarterly Conversation virtual meeting series with clients across the company footprint.
Deliver presentations to clients, Wealth Management associates, Bank Relationship Managers, and leadership teams.
Media & Social Presence: Act as spokesperson and contributor to national media outlets and platforms, enhancing the firm’s visibility and thought leadership.
Provide market and economic content for sharing via social media channels.
Strategic Presentation & Collaboration: Lead the presentation of firm-level asset allocation decisions and investment strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
Present regularly to the corporate Fiduciary and Risk Committee, ensuring alignment with compliance and risk management guidelines.
Business Development Alignment: Collaborate closely on Wealth Management business development initiatives to support revenue growth objectives and enhance client relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor (4-year college) degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
Extensive experience in investment management, committee leadership, and client-facing roles.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with proven ability to engage audiences from associates to executive leadership and clients.
Demonstrated expertise in market analysis, economic outlook, and investment strategy.
Experience contributing to media and social content, with ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences.
Collaborative approach with a focus on supporting company business development and growth targets.
