Position Summary
Under direct supervision, serves as a primary support and case manager to provide screening, assessment, and assist in linking services needed by members served and their family to overcome the crisis. Schedule
Monday‑Friday, 11 PM – 7:30 AM (1.0 FTE) Pay
$21.00 – $25.15 /hour. Expected pay range $21–$22.86 /hour. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges, based on location of role performance. Telecare’s mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. The Windsor Center is a short‑stay crisis stabilization unit (CSU) offering 24/7 services to adults and youth, aiming to increase access to crisis services, reduce inpatient hospitalization, limit law‑enforcement involvement, and strengthen existing outpatient behavioral health services. Essential Functions Demonstrate Telecare mission, values, and beliefs in daily interactions with stakeholders. Collaborate with members served to create Recovery Plan goals and ensure service delivery. Provide specialized crisis intervention services, including screening and assessments. Facilitate groups focused on education and coping skills in crisis intervention. Administer appropriate interventions in crisis situations. Perform officer‑of‑the‑day duties for wellness, duty, and standby tasks on a rotating basis. Collect required data and complete required documentation. Coordinate transitions to lower levels of care. Maintain awareness of community resources and assist members with their use. Assist members with Activities of Daily Living and essential appointments. Advocate for members in obtaining appropriate benefits, including representative payee services. Ensure members understand legal status and rights. Promote independence and autonomy for members. Safeguard confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies. Provide wraparound services encompassing whole‑person care. Provide transportation and link to community resources when necessary. Handle restraint and crisis prevention training as required. Document quality and quantity of direct services per program standards. All duties are subject to change at management’s discretion. Qualifications Required High School Graduation or G.E.D. and 3 years of direct services in mental health or community services; or Associate’s degree and 2 years of experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Social Services. At least 1 year of direct service experience with Crisis Intervention, including screening and assessments. Eligibility for San Bernardino County FACT, ACT, and MAPS programs. Education requirements: At least 30 semester (45 quarter) units of college coursework in behavioral or social science, or 60 semester units with 15 semester units in behavioral science, Psych Tech courses, and Alcohol/Drug Certificate courses. One year of experience providing mental health services including interviewing, referring, and performing crisis intervention. Three years of experience in a behavioral health department with direct participant contact. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and six months experience in mental health services and crisis intervention. In Riverside County and San Diego County, Bachelor’s degree required and two years in a mental health setting. Multi‑cultural sensitivity. Minimum age 18 years. CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certification on date of employment or within 60 days, maintained throughout employment. Successful post‑offer physical examination, tuberculosis test, criminal background clearance, and other regulatory requirements. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required if driving is necessary. Preferred Four years’ experience in a behavioral health setting. Experience providing intensive case management and/or community supports using psychiatric rehabilitation concepts. Experience in an outpatient clinic, dual diagnosis treatment, or community mental health service. Skills Thorough understanding of members’ rights and relevant legal processes. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Good computer and technology skills. Ability to assess safety risks. Rapport building, engagement, and hope‑promoting with members. Excellent driving skills. Basic medical and psychiatric terminology knowledge. Within two months of employment, ability to apply financial requirements for billing and learn billing codes. Physical Demands
The position requires standing, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying items weighing 25 pounds or less, and frequent sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and power grasping. Driving and hazardous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hospital waste, chemicals, and infections are required. EOE
