Job Summary:
The responsibility of the Assistant Professor in the Master of Counseling Department is to demonstrate high ability as a professor. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching core classes, advising graduate students, participating in the admissions processes, providing clinical supervision, engaging in scholarly activities including publication and professional presentations, and participating in university, local, regional, and national service.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with development and design of courses and curriculum in their departments.
Provide instruction for students.
Advise and counsel students.
Keep class records, attendance, and submit grade reports.
Assist with accrediting process.
Assist in admission process.
Attend faculty and other required meetings.
Serve on committees of the University upon election or appointment.
Attend academic convocation, consecration, commencement ceremonies and other contractual events.
Perform such administrative duties as may be specifically designated in annual or special contracts.
Engage in research, scholarly and/or creative works.
Engage in service to the discipline and the University.
Provide for course-level evaluation.
Provide assessment data to the department chair.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of the CACREP Accreditation process
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
Doctorate Degree in Counselor Education or related field
Graduate of CACREP accredited program
Education And Experience
Unencumbered license to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida or licensed eligible
Doctorate Counselor Education or related field
3+ years teaching experience at the graduate level
Knowledge of Accreditation
