Job Summary
Actively involved, at the executive level, in the leadership of the organization. Organizes and administers areas of Patient Care Services to attain the hospital's objectives established by the Governing Body. The CNO has responsibility for the management of all nursing standards of practice and therefore responsible for establishing standards of nursing practice, nursing policies and procedures, and nursing standards of patient care.

Creates environment that guides employees to accomplish unit and individual goals
Responds positively to changes to maximize opportunities or minimize problems

People Management
Defines and communicates standards of performance; and provides regular informal feedback
Develops and maintains department staffing model; hires and onboards new employees
Completes employees introductory and annual evaluations by due date
Fosters internal employee communication by ensuring that staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis
Addresses employee performance issues in a timely and consistent manner
Performance Improvement and Quality of Service
Identifies opportunities for process improvement
Develops and tracks key outcomes to measure performance
Assure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, federal and state regulatory agencies
Financial Management
Maintain department budget for capital, expenses and revenues
Monitors and explains variances
Identifies and implements ways to decrease costs and improve productivity
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education with a plan to obtain a high level of degree.
Current California Registered Nursing License.
Master’s degree in healthcare management or nursing preferred.
ACLS Certificate preferred
BLS Certificate
Minimum five (5) years of prior experience in patient care service
Three years of quality management experience preferred
Registered Nurse License California to be eligible.
