Overview
Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic safety plans and policies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Regularly review and update safety protocols to reflect changes in regulations, technology, and project scope.
Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate safety initiatives into broader business strategies.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA standards and other relevant requirements.
Stay informed of regulatory updates and proactively adjust safety programs accordingly.
Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels, including onboarding, specialized training for high-risk tasks, and ongoing refreshers.
Coordinate with external training providers as needed to supplement internal programs.
Conduct thorough risk assessments for construction activities, identifying hazards and implementing effective controls.
Collaborate with project teams to develop site-specific safety plans and oversee their implementation.
Provide guidance on PPE selection and proper usage.
Lead investigations of safety incidents and near misses, conducting root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
Develop corrective and preventive action plans based on investigation findings.
Oversee workmen's compensation programs, claims management, and communication with insurance providers.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to safety team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading safety initiatives across multiple construction projects or within a large construction organization.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices relevant to construction.
Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs for diverse audiences.
Experience managing workers' compensation claims and collaborating with insurance carriers and legal teams.
Familiarity with vendor and contractor safety evaluations and performance monitoring.
Proficiency with safety management systems and data analysis tools.
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring safety professionals and managing performance.
Ability to develop emergency response plans and lead crisis management efforts.
Strong conflict resolution skills and a diplomatic approach to safety issues.
Commitment to continuous safety improvement and proactive problem-solving.
Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies.
High level of discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive safety information.
