Job Overview
As the Director of Industrial Engineering, you will lead strategic initiatives that improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness, scalability, and service delivery of Stord’s national fulfillment network. You will serve as a key architect of Stord’s scalable operating model, integrating data, systems, and cross‑functional alignment to achieve step‑change improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Transformation & Continuous Improvement – Lead cross‑functional initiatives to optimize throughput, quality, cost, and service. Drive structured CI programs across all sites with direct accountability for ROI and scalability.
KPI Governance & Performance Infrastructure – Own the enterprise KPI framework and operational governance model. Define standard metrics, targets, and reporting cadences to drive accountability.
Cost Optimization & Financial Impact – Partner with Finance and Site Operations to identify margin expansion opportunities across labor, waste, transportation, and facility performance. Build cost models and initiative tracking.
Labor Planning & Productivity Strategy – Develop labor forecasting, staffing models, and productivity benchmarks to ensure labor efficiency across fulfillment nodes.
Service & SLA Management – Improve customer SLAs by reducing fulfillment defects, improving cycle times, and driving proactive performance management across sites.
Process Standardization & Best Practice Deployment – Design and deploy standardized workflows, SOPs, and system processes to elevate consistency and reduce variation.
Change Management & Adoption Enablement – Build scalable playbooks, change management frameworks, and training programs to accelerate adoption of new processes and tools.
Technology & Tools Enablement – Partner with Product, Engineering, and BI to implement operational systems and analytics platforms that support forecasting, monitoring, and execution improvement.
Network Benchmarking & Maturity Modeling – Conduct benchmarking across sites and customer programs to identify gaps and replicate high‑performing behaviors.
Team Leadership & Talent Development – Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing team of analysts, engineers, and program managers.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing with a focus on operational excellence.
Demonstrated success leading enterprise‑wide improvement initiatives with measurable impact on cost, quality, throughput, and service.
Deep experience with KPI frameworks, operational dashboards, and performance reporting systems.
Strong financial acumen with ability to connect operational performance to EBITDA and gross margin outcomes.
Proven ability to lead labor management, productivity modeling, and workforce planning across a multi‑node network.
Advanced knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies (certifications preferred).
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional influence skills.
