DEM is the vital link in emergency communication between the public and first responders, ensuring efficient coordination and leadership. The department plays a key role in collaborating with City departments, stakeholders, residents, and visitors to enhance the city’s emergency management capabilities.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Entry-Level Police Officer (Q002) with the San Francisco Police Department. The Police Officer will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and maintaining public order. The Police Officer will work closely with community members to ensure safety and provide assistance as needed. Regular duties also include report writing, attending court proceedings, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications
Police Officers: Ability to maintain peace, protect citizens, and enforce laws
Criminal Investigations and Evidence: Skills in investigating crimes, collecting, and preserving evidence
Law Enforcement: Knowledge and application of law enforcement practices and protocols
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical fitness and ability to handle high-stress situations
Ability to work collaboratively with other officers and community stakeholders
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in law enforcement are a plus
Must meet all legal and regulatory requirements for police officers in the state of California
