Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job opening for an Outside Machinist Journeyman Diesel Mechanic, with a minimum of 5 years diesel experience preferred. PCE is a full service electro‑mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.
Job Summary / Outside Machinist : Diesel Mechanic
Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using work specifications and technical manuals. Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed. Maintain open communication with the management team regarding job status, updates, and changes. Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and solutions. Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and apprentices. Order and manage inventory of parts needed for repairs. Perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position. Position Requirements and Experience / Outside Machinist : Diesel Mechanic
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred. Use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth micrometers, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools. Benefits
