Hardware Engineer
SAIC is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our team in providing hardware and software development solutions to the US Army DevCom Software, Simulation, and Systems Integration Directorate (S3I) located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Activities will include the development of special purpose electronic assemblies.
Responsibilities
Design of automatic test equipment for verification of tactical military hardware and software.
Analyze and characterize I/O of complex electronic assemblies.
Integrate Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and custom designed electronic assemblies.
Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation, and component selection according to electrical/electronic hardware requirements.
Support generation of documentation for a Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware/firmware components.
Apply knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas
Embedded microcontroller hardware/firmware design and development.
FPGA firmware design and development.
Analog & Digital electronic design.
Use of COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) data acquisition and control systems.
Signal Conditioning.
Qualifications Required Education
Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance
Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills
Fire control system for rocket/missile launcher.
National Instruments PXI, LXI, cRIO.
LabVIEW Development.
Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems.
Test Plan & Test Procedure Development.
Technical Writing.
System requirements and Interface Control Drawing (ICD) management.
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Schematic capture.
Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint and Visio).
MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464.
