Job Description And Duties This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by supervising staff that amend and maintain permanent records of every birth, death, fetal death, and marriage occurring in California.
Supervise the Vital Records Policy and Compliance Unit (VRPCU) of the Vital Records Issuance Branch (VRIB).
Facilitate process improvement and maintain relationships with counties and administrative staff.
Oversee legislative tasks and promulgation of regulations related to vital records.
Directly manage VRPCU performing policy and procedure related tasks through subordinate staff.
Work under the general direction of the SSM III, Chief of VRIB.
Desirable Qualifications
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills for summarizing legislation and coordinating across department.
Experience and understanding of vital records regulations and policy.
Ability to gain and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of quality improvement processes.
