World Wide Technology is looking for a Observability Engineer. This job is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.
Job Title: Observability Engineer
Contract Duration: 6+ months
Location: Onsite in Edmond, OK
Job Description:
We are seeking an Observability Engineer to enhance the YouVersion Platform’s monitoring and observability capabilities. This role involves designing and implementing comprehensive metrics, tracing, and logging pipelines across SDKs, APIs, and infrastructure. The Observability Engineer will collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and other engineering teams to develop actionable dashboards, alerting rules, and performance baselines using tools like New Relic and Sentry.
Key Responsibilities:
Advance the monitoring and observability maturity of the YouVersion Platform by designing and implementing metrics, tracing, and logging pipelines.
Collaborate with SRE and engineering teams to build and maintain actionable dashboards, alerting rules, and performance baselines.
Utilize New Relic and Sentry to enhance observability and ensure system reliability and performance.
Implement distributed tracing, error correlation, and telemetry normalization to improve system insights and troubleshooting capabilities.
Continuously evaluate and improve observability practices to support platform scalability and reliability.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Observability Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on monitoring and observability.
Strong expertise in designing and implementing metrics, tracing, and logging pipelines.
Experience with distributed tracing, error correlation, and telemetry normalization.
Proficiency in using New Relic and Sentry for observability and monitoring.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to work onsite in Edmond, OK.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with additional observability and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure.
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $55 to $65 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in base pay.
