Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Position Summary The Director of Career Services oversees all aspects of student and graduate career development, job placement, externship coordination, and employer engagement. This role requires a results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment and has a proven track record within the proprietary/for-profit education sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and mentor the Career Services team to meet or exceed placement goals and compliance standards.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, community partners, and professional organizations to expand externship and job placement opportunities.
Organize and oversee Professional Advisory Boards and ensure programs are aligned with current industry needs.
Implement effective student career preparation strategies, including workshops, resume coaching, mock interviews, and professional development events.
Track and analyze employment outcomes, prepare performance reports, and ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with academic and admissions leadership to integrate career readiness across all programs.
Represent the institution at community and industry events to strengthen partnerships and brand reputation.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in Career Services, Placement, or Employer Relations within a for-profit or proprietary college setting.
Proven leadership experience managing staff and departmental operations.
Strong employer network-building and partnership development skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation abilities.
Knowledge of accreditation, placement reporting, and compliance standards for proprietary institutions.
