Automation Applications Engineer Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

We’re recruiting for an

Automation Applications Engineer

to join our client’s growing team in

Raleigh, North Carolina . This full-time, onsite position supports one of the world’s leaders in power and thermal management systems, serving industrial automation, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing markets. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

In this role, you’ll provide pre- and post-sales technical support for automation products, including variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, HMIs, and control systems. You’ll work directly with customers, integrators, and internal teams to solve complex challenges and deliver high-performance automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for automation projects and customer design-ins.

Configure, test, and troubleshoot control systems including drives, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and power supplies.

Collaborate with sales and engineering to develop system proposals and demonstrations.

Conduct training sessions and technical presentations for customers and partners.

Support events, product launches, and field applications across the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience in industrial automation and control systems.

Working knowledge of AC drives, servo systems, PLCs, HMIs, and communication networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, etc.).

Exposure to VFDs and related technologies.

Preferred: experience with VFDSoft, DIAStudio, or Codesys programming environments.

Strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills.

Additional Details

Salary: $85,000–$135,000 base (includes 10% bonus)

401(k) match up to 10% with full benefits

Travel: 25–50% (U.S. and Canada)
