The Division of Comparative Pathology, Tulane National Primate Research Center, Tulane University School of Medicine, Covington, LA invites applications for a research track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The individual selected will join a very active research group that includes several NIH‑funded faculty members and numerous collaborators, both domestic and international. The Division of Comparative Pathology is actively engaged in several areas of non‑human primate research including HIV‑associated cardiovascular diseases, immunology of aging processing and regenerative medicine, and dissecting of specific renal cell population function and mechanisms for their regeneration. Responsibilities
Develop an independent research program using non‑human primate and rodent models. Collaborate with investigators on the design, implementation and interpretation of diverse biomedical research projects involving infectious diseases and immune responses to pathogens, and use this knowledge to develop tailored preventive and therapeutic strategies. Train postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and residents in pathology. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience. The relative emphasis on each component is negotiable depending on the applicant's interest and expertise.
