Summary of Responsibility As an Applications Engineer you will use your technical skills to identify and provide dependable solutions for our diverse customer base. You will manage customer projects, demonstrations, and other customer related questions to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The Applications Engineer is the first line of support for our customer experience and is responsible for handling multiple high‑level technical tasks that surround the use and implementation of CAM software, CNC Machining of complex parts, and working on multi Axis CNC Machines. The Engineer will also work with pre‑sales to assist on quotes for customers’ application and be flexible to work on multiple tasks at one time.
What You Will Contribute
Running turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
Conducting pre‑sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposal
Developing/implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set‑up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/or multi‑tasking machines
Conducting training of customers in the safe set‑up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/or multi‑tasking machines
Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
Travel to customers for on‑site training and engineering assistance
Other Function

Qualifications & Competencies
Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool related engineering and manufacturing
Possessing and maintaining an in‑depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company
Knowledge of Fanuc based controls, 5‑axis experience is a plus
Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferred but not required
Able to think quickly, assess a situation, and make a sound decision
Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with the Morris Group values

Ability to frequently use hands and arms
Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to keep their composure with the public and co‑workers in everyday, stressful situations
