Job Description:

Accepting Applications for Academic Year 2025-2026 Adjunct faculty in the mathematics(math) department play a major role in instruction, working with the full-time faculty to deliver mathematics instruction to students. Using department course outcomes, and recommendations from the dean's office and the mathematics department chair, adjunct faculty develop and deliver course content using high quality pedagogical techniques to ensure maximum student success and learning. Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare course syllabi that meet all contractual requirements. Schedule classes to meet for the allotted time on every scheduled meeting day during the semester. Employ effective instructional strategies that promote student learning. Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding. Monitor email communications from students and the college and respond in a timely manner. Provide availability outside of class to meet with and assist students. Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation. Additional Responsibilities Manage a level of flexibility that holds students accountable and recognizes the challenging work/school/life balance lead by many students at Massasoit. Ensure appropriate training in laboratory safety for laboratory classes. Follow divisional policies to maintain security of laboratory spaces, chemicals and equipment. Work collaboratively with divisional staff. Provide feedback on student progress to advisement and counseling. Focuson the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026. Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in mathematics, mathematics education, or related field. Preferred: Experience with and understanding of the community college environment Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience teaching developmental co-requisite courses (linked developmental and college-level courses) Capable of maintaining academic standards with empathy and honesty Knowledge of and experience using effective pedagogical strategies Experience and training in online instruction

Additional Information:

Position Status: MCCC/MTA bargaining unit position;Adjunct Faculty are part-time instructors hired per semesteron an as-needed basis Supervisor : Dean of STEM Semester : Academic Year Fall 2025and Spring 2026 Hours:

Variable. Classes Typically meet 3-5 hours per week.Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend courses Salary: $1,397.00per credit, with additional compensation for courses with a laboratory component consistent with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. *If hired for the position mid-semester, the salary will be pro-rated based on the number of weeks left in the semester.
