Human Services - Part‑Time Lecturer Pool Department of Human Services

Position The Department of Human Services at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applicants experienced in student‑centered teaching in the following subject areas:

Case Management

Introduction to Human Services

Crisis Intervention

This is a pool of part‑time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field or equivalent experience.

Prior teaching experience at the university level.

Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant teaching experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.

Relevant performance and professional experience.

Appointment Date and Academic Calendar Part‑time faculty are most needed in the Fall and Spring semesters. Fall term: late August to mid‑December. Spring term: mid‑January to end of May. One Summer Session segment may also require faculty.

Performance Evaluation Regular performance evaluations of part‑time lecturers are conducted per faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. Evaluations determine retention for future assignments.

Appointment and Salary All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classified range: $5,507–$6,677 per month.

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.

Full‑time monthly base salaries prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments. For a 3‑unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

About the College and the Department Welcome from the Chair. The Human Services Department curriculum emerged from early 1970s courses taught through the Interdisciplinary Center. The department offers tracks in Mental Health, Social Work, Community Organization and Planning, Policy Analysis, Administration of Human Service Agencies, and a teacher education preparation track. Approximately 700 majors, 12 full‑time professors, 3 full‑time lecturers, and about 20 part‑time lecturers serve students and partner with over 180 agencies for internships and fieldwork.
