Our client, a leader in their industry, has an exciting opportunity for a Wifi Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for providing wireless technology leadership for the development, engineering design, and deployment support of wireless technologies, including WiFi and mobile.

Rate: $65 - $73 / hr. W2

Responsibilities

Provide technology leadership and lead the development of complex end-to-end technology solutions involving devices/CPEs, access, transport, core, and backend systems.

Assess new product requirements and develop technology solutions and architecture design to support them.

Test and certify new Small Cells, Home/SMB Routers, Wireless APs (Access Points), Wireless Access Gateways (WAGs), and Controllers for field deployment.

Work with Operations to resolve WiFi and mobile access network issues that may impact the business and/or customers.

Provide guidelines and technical leadership for the development of tools and processes to support new products, technology solutions, testing, and validation.

Validate technology capabilities through lab evaluations and field trials.

Drive innovative technologies and approaches (e.g., 802.11ad/ay, UWB, BNC, Mesh Network) to improve performance, reliability, and customer Quality of Experience (QoE).

Support new wireless technologies and initiatives, including improving network security, virus detection, virtualization of network functions, and new applications and services.

Support efforts to maximize the performance of Spectrum WiFi (public WiFi infrastructure).

Develop tools and processes for engineering design, testing, and certification of new technology solutions and products.

Review designs, code, and unit test plans where applicable.

Participate in RFPs/RFIs, hardware/software evaluations, and vendor contract negotiations.

Experience Requirements

7+ years of experience in Wireless Technology Development & Management with top MSOs, Telcos, satellite operators, or major U.S. wireless vendors.

BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
