Overview Multiple Faculty Searches - Department of Physics

The Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley is recruiting for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the following areas.

Search Areas

Soft Condensed Matter – open to experimentalists and theorists interested in nonlinear physics, non‑equilibrium statistical physics, physics of learning and information, non‑biological and biological soft condensed matter physics, and related areas.

Atomic Physics Theory – candidates from quantum simulation, many‑body quantum mechanics, emergent phenomena, entangled systems, quantum information science, quantum optics, precision measurement, tests of fundamental physics, ultracold molecules and chemistry, ultrafast optics, and other sub‑fields.

Open Search in Theoretical Physics – a broad search with particular emphases in theoretical particle physics, plasma theory and computation, and theoretical condensed matter physics.

Qualifications PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrollment in a PhD or equivalent international degree‑granting program at the time of application.
