What You Will Be Doing
Design and documentation of navigation algorithms
Develop, verify, and validate algorithms in missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
The candidate must have experience in weapon system and/or sensor modeling, both for the items to be modeled, and the synthetic modeled environments used to stimulate the simulated hardware. The engineer must be able to work with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB models, C++ models, and actual tactical software into the simulations. The engineer must be proficient in C++ and MATLAB. The candidate must have good communication skills and must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
Basic Qualifications
Experience designing and analyzing terrestrial navigation estimates and navigation state error estimates
Experience with performing Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis
Demonstrate experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF)
Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations
Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
Able to obtain and hold a US Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.
Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.
Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN is also a plus.
