The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Supports our Sales team in specifying 3M products into construction projects.

Trains customers, sales representatives, and colleagues.

Analyze customer needs and inform product testing & certification decisions.

Designs, Executes, and Reports product experiments.

Provides objective technical advice to help customers deliver code-compliant solutions.

Your Skills and Expertise

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a Science (completed and verified prior to start).

Three (3) years of combined experience working within a construction industry, test laboratory, or engineering environment in a private, public, government or military environment.

Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering or a Science from an accredited institution.

Five (5) years of combined experience working within a construction industry, test laboratory, or engineering environment in a private, public, government or military environment.

Skills include customer support, construction jobsite training, inspection and reporting.

Developing market assessments & executive briefings.

Knowledgeable of Built-Up, Single-Ply, Protective Coating roofing codes (International Building Code, Chapter 15).

Well-versed in CSI Master Specs, section 07 50 00 ‘Membrane Roofing’.

Familiar with ASTM Committee D08 ‘Roofing and Waterproofing’ standards.

Success in influencing Codes & Standards.

Interaction with the National Roofing Contractors Association trade organization.

Cognizant of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) role in design, specification, installation, inspection and management of roof systems.

Work location

This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel

May include up to 35% domestic/international travel.

Relocation

May be authorized.

Pay & Benefits Overview Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
