Description
Lead System Architect for Shared Simulation Software (SSS) team. Design, develop, and maintain high‑fidelity simulation software supporting multiple aircraft platforms across Lockheed Martin, enabling accurate mission‑level modeling and rapid integration for development and test programs.
What You Will Be Doing As the Lead System Architect you will define the long‑term technical vision for the SSS portfolio and ensure all engineering work aligns with that vision.
Creating and maintaining an Architectural Roadmap that outlines future capabilities, technology standards, and migration paths for shared simulation software.
Defining system‑design guidelines and enforcing compliance across all engineering deliverables to guarantee consistency, scalability, and re‑usability.
Providing technical leadership and mentorship to the SSS engineers, reviewing designs, and guiding implementation to meet performance and fidelity goals.
Supporting multiple aircraft simulation platforms by integrating new models, tools, and interfaces, and coordinating with cross‑functional program teams to align simulation solutions with program requirements.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Candidate must have fighter aircraft simulation experience.
Candidate must be familiar with an Architectural Roadmap.
Desired Skills
Basis of Estimate (BOE) creation skills.
Familiar with LM Digital Transformation Strategies.
Experience as an Agile Product Owner.
Large scale complex software development experience.
Knowledge of Fifth Generation fighter aircraft.
Experience developing system design for MITL/HITL Simulations / Stimulations.
Familiar with SysML, Cameo and/or Rhapsody.
Sensor modeling experience.
Familiar with the Work Product Evaluation (WPE) process.
Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, and successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
