We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pathologists by assisting in the examination and processing of specimens. This position requires a strong background in clinical and research laboratory settings, along with a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. The Pathology Assistant will contribute to accurate diagnoses and patient care through meticulous specimen handling and laboratory techniques.
Duties Assist pathologists in the preparation and examination of tissue specimens. Perform specimen collection and processing, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques. Conduct laboratory procedures including histology, grossing, and staining of samples. Maintain accurate records of specimens and laboratory results. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Utilize knowledge of anatomy and pathology to assist in diagnostic processes. Monitor vital signs as necessary during specimen collection or patient interactions. Uphold safety protocols and maintain cleanliness within the laboratory environment. Shift Monday thru Friday 7:30a-4p 40 hours a week Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program NYS licensure as a Pathologist Assistant Experience in: Surgical Pathology, Histology, Cytology, General, Autopsy Pathology. MUST LIVE 75 MILES FROM THE FACILITY
