Job Summary
A plastic surgeon deals with the repair, reconstruction, or replacement of physical defects involving the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniomaxillofacial structures, hands, extremities, breasts, trunk, and external genitalia. They apply aesthetic surgical principles to improve both normal structures and reconstructive procedures. A plastic surgeon possesses expertise in designing and performing grafts, flaps, free-tissue transfers, and replantation. Competence in managing complex wounds, using implantable materials, and performing tumor surgeries is essential.
Job Duties
Join Geisinger as a board-eligible or certified plastic surgeon in our Plastic Surgery Department. The candidate should be hardworking, energetic, and team-oriented.
Work with an established plastic surgery team alongside advanced practitioners, specialty staff, and multidisciplinary providers.
Participate in teaching, research, and program development, especially with the integrated plastic surgery residency established in July 2018.
Job Details
Provide a broad spectrum of services, including general plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures (e.g., breast augmentation, lifts, abdominoplasty, facelifts, liposuction, eyelid lifts, brow lifts), microsurgical and implant-based breast reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, and cancer/trauma reconstruction.
Contribute to the education of plastic surgery residents.
Benefit from an established referral base from Geisinger and outside/private practices.
Utilize the fully integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) - EPIC.
Experience or fellowship training in microsurgery is a plus, as microsurgery volume is increasing.
Locations and Openings
Positions are available at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, and Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA.
