About the Role:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Alpharetta Warehouse by supporting all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position is responsible for the accurate handling and movement of goods, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to maintain workflow and safety standards. The Warehouse Assistant contributes to maintaining organized inventory control systems, ensuring that stock levels are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed. By collaborating with warehouse management and team members, this role helps optimize storage space and streamline order fulfillment processes. Ultimately, the Warehouse Assistant ensures that all warehouse activities are conducted in a timely, safe, and efficient manner to support overall business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment involving shipping and receiving operations.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely and efficiently, with valid certification if required.
- Basic computer skills for inventory control and warehouse management system usage.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, standing, and moving materials for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with electric pallet jacks and advanced warehouse management systems.
- Forklift operator certification recognized by OSHA or relevant authority.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Operate pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts to move, load, and unload materials safely within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and data entry into warehouse management systems.
- Prepare and stage outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders according to company standards.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting hazards.
