Job Description We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer with experience in the oil and gas industry to design, develop, and deliver high-impact learning solutions. This role requires a strong background in instructional design methodologies, technical training, and learning technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with subject matter experts to identify learning needs and design engaging interactive learning materials, e‑learning modules (Storyline360), storyboarding, e‑learning guides, job aids, infographics, basic graphic design informational videos (Vyond/Camtasia), AI audio, and assessments.

Translate complex business processes and identify knowledge gaps specific to the oil and gas industry; design learning objectives for WBTs, ILTs, hybrid training programs, acknowledgment and compliance‑based training.

Manage end‑to‑end multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and prioritizing tasks.

Demonstrate proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Camtasia, Audiate; creative portfolio required. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is a plus.

Work with LMS (Cornerstone or WorkDay) for curriculum design, course creation, roster uploading, SCORM file updates, knowledge management, and deployment of training per company standards.

Conceptualize and create visual concepts to communicate ideas and solve learning needs; scenario‑based learning experience is a plus.

Facilitate learning announcements and email campaigns with excellent design, creative direction, communication, and writing skills.

Implement risk analysis, job hazard analysis, and risk assessments to support a safe work environment.

Assist with compliance training and procedures (SOPs, OQ, OE, etc.).

Schedule, execute, and close‑out training events and rosters; schedule and perform minor maintenance activities and inspections.

Responsible for daily opening and closing of the facility.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of instructional/learning design and technical training experience in the oil and gas industry (ADDIE).

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Certifications in Learning Design/Instructional Design are preferred.

Skills And Competencies

Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience generating reports with Excel pivot tables and Power BI (plus).

Technical support for course bugs and ServiceNow ticket closure.

Ownership and accountability for project progress and issue mitigation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with learners, SMEs, management, vendors, and senior management.

Ability to influence decisions and prioritize multiple tasks.

Public speaking and presentation skills for large and small groups.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple training topics.

Dependable, self‑accountable, and self‑motivated.

Maintain positive relationships with 3rd party vendors and internal SMEs.

Team player with constructive feedback reception.

Additional responsibilities required to support ongoing needs of the organization.

Working Conditions

Representative of normal office working conditions.

Must remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged sitting or standing.

Travel up to 25% as needed.

Occasional visits to process plants, compressor stations, and pipeline settings with hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, loud machinery, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
