The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing for the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely payment of employee wages, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and effective management of payroll systems and staff. The Payroll Manager collaborates closely with the Human Resources Generalist, Finance, and other departments to maintain data integrity and support organizational objectives. Essential Functions
Manages the end‑to‑end payroll process for all employees, including regular, overtime, union, bonus, and special compensation payments. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, taxes, and hour laws. Maintains and updates payroll systems to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality. Accurately handles payroll tax reports, filings, and payments by their deadlines. Resolves payroll discrepancies and responds to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits. Processes and manages garnishments, benefits deductions, and other adjustments. Generates payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes. Collaborates with HR and Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and benefits administration. Required Education and Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices. Advanced knowledge of payroll software systems (preferably Ceridian Dayforce HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Certification, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), is a plus. 2+ years of previous full‑cycle multi‑site state and international payroll. Pay Transparency
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is
$95,000 - $115,000
on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, taking into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
