Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist – Part Time
The City of Grand Prairie’s award‑winning Marketing and Communications team is searching for a talented, driven, and creative graphic designer.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in print and digital marketing, promotions and branding, and possesses strong communication skills.
As a key member of our team, you will develop impactful and creative designs that will resonate with our residents and promote Grand Prairie as a premier destination in the state of Texas.
Graphic Design & Branding (primary responsibility) Responsible for the graphic design of print and digital advertisements, billboards, digital sign graphics, fliers, posters, brochures, newsletters, programs, social‑media and e‑mail graphics, presentations, reports, etc. Will also be responsible for maintaining and updating branding guidelines of the department, as well as creating new brands/logos when necessary.
Additional job functions may include
Marketing research: Perform marketing research for the department and assist with the coordination of marketing efforts.
Collateral: Design marketing materials for a department or division, including brochures, fliers, direct‑mail publications, newsletters, signage, and website updates.
Events: Assist with planning and implementation of ground‑breakings, grand openings, dignitary receptions, and other special events.
Communications: Create, write, print, mail, and distribute a variety of customer communication tools, including newsletters, direct mails, events, calendars, brochures, surveys, websites, meetings, and photography.
Advertising: Create, assist with design and place advertising as appropriate within budget, matching key messages with target audiences using appropriate medium.
Marketing plans: Research, plan, write, budget, implement, and analyze marketing plans to deliver key messages to target audiences using a variety of communication tools as appropriate.
Perform other administrative duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates degree.
Expertise with Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop software on PC.
Two years of experience in marketing and graphic design.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a minimum of four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
Ability to work on site 20 hrs. a week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
