Youth Specialist - Male Only - Juvenile Probation
position. The role focuses on supervising and supporting at‑risk male youth during academic and recreational activities on two campuses, ensuring safety and fostering positive behavior.
Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor youth during recreation and academic activities across the campus locations.
Ensure safety requirements and expectations are met at all times.
Process new youth arrivals as needed.
Conduct conferences with youths’ parents, site supervisors, and the treatment team.
Lead psychoeducational groups using a participatory leadership style.
Attend all staff meetings and conferences as required.
Manage aggressive student behavior, including restraining individuals as needed.
Participate in emergency management activities during local disasters as directed by county managers.
Minimum Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience working with at‑risk adolescents.
One‑year job‑related experience in a treatment‑oriented, behavior modification, or adolescent/juvenile program is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Must be 21 years of age.
CPR–First Aid Certification and Handle With Care Certification (certifications may be obtained after employment begins).
Valid Texas Driver’s License is required.
Eligible to be certified as a Juvenile Supervision Officer.

Salary Range Starting salary range: $24.57 – $36.86 per hour based on qualifications.

Disqualifying Criminal History
A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; or current felony probation or parole.
A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years; or current misdemeanor probation or parole.
Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
