Summary
The Technical CAD & Prepress Specialist is responsible for bridging the gap between design and production to ensure that folding carton and corrugated packaging runs smoothly and efficiently. This role develops and maintains CAD packaging designs, prepares accurate prepress files, manages tooling requirements, and supports production setup. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
Design and maintain packaging layouts using CAD software (ArtiosCAD preferred).
Prepare and modify prepress CAD files to ensure accuracy in printing, cutting, and folding.
Order and manage tooling, including dies and cutting forms.
Prepare and maintain press blankets, vinyl's, and other setup materials.
Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve setup issues quickly.
Ensure files and setups are accurate to minimize waste and downtime.
Maintain organized records of files, tooling, and materials.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and production efficiency efforts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Design and maintain packaging layouts using CAD software (ArtiosCAD preferred).
Prepare and modify prepress CAD files to ensure accuracy in printing, cutting, and folding.
Order and manage tooling, including dies and cutting forms.
Prepare and maintain press blankets, vinyl's, and other setup materials.

Education And Experience
Experience using CAD software required; ArtiosCAD experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of folding carton and corrugated packaging manufacturing processes desirable.
2+ years of experience in packaging design, prepress, or related field preferred.
Skills And Abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced production environment.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking in an office and production environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
