We are looking for a creative communications professional to join our Caterpillar Communications team as a Communications Manager working with our Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology (RISST) Division. As Caterpillar's RISST division, we take immense pride in our mission to provide the best possible customer experience by leveraging cutting‑edge technologies such as automation and electrification to help our customers solve their biggest mine site challenges. Our integrated site solutions, including product health and safety services, are designed to enhance efficiency while ensuring safety and sustainability. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building a strong network across a complex, global matrix to ensure consensus and drive effective communication of key business initiatives.
What You Will Do
Lead a high‑performing team of communications professionals
Coach staff involved in any communication events or presentations
Consult with senior leaders, managers, and employees on messaging using the power of words, images, sounds and multi‑media
Own internal employee communications including strategy, channels, tools, and messaging
Develop and lead division communication campaigns
Advise the organization on all aspects of communications, including presentations, videos, written communications, etc., to ensure the clarity and accuracy of the message
Develop, edit, review, and approve communications materials
Deliver communications strategies and plans, key messages, presentations for internal and at times external audiences, video scripts, internal articles, meeting execution (including prep, agenda development, logistics and content), and LinkedIn posts
What You Have (Basic Skills Required)
Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective communications planning techniques and ability to contribute to strategic planning in support of the overall business plan
Communicating Complex Concepts: The ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization
Interpersonal Relationships: The ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; defines and organizes the content and flow of a multi‑media, multi‑speaker presentation; prepares complex presentations to large or critical technical and business audiences; coaches others in all aspects of preparing and giving a formal presentation
Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
Copywriting and Editing: Able to effectively write, review and edit texts and documents
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills)
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field and/or equivalent experience
Ability to create and tell stories through visual mediums (graphic design, video, etc.)

The primary locations for this position are Tucson, AZ, Peoria, IL, or Irving, TX
Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

International and Domestic travel up to 20%
