ABOUT THE CLIENT
I am currently working with a well established General Contractor & Construction Management specialist with a rich history in the Florida area.
They are currently looking for a skilled Multi-Family Construction Superintendent for a major project in the Orlando area.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Site Supervision and Management: Overseeing all day-to-day construction activities from ground-breaking to project completion. This includes managing daily site operations, coordinating all phases of construction, and ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Schedule Management: Developing, maintaining, and driving the construction schedule to ensure timely delivery of the project. This involves scheduling contractors and vendors, monitoring progress, and proactively addressing any delays.
- Quality Control: Implementing and managing quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the construction process. This often involves daily site walks and inspections.
- Safety Enforcement: Implementing and enforcing all health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards) to maintain a safe and risk-free environment for all workers on site. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and leading safety meetings.
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Directly supervising and coordinating the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other trades. This involves effective communication, problem-solving, and resolving any issues or conflicts that arise on-site.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed daily logs of visitors, job actions, materials, and problems resolved. They also typically prepare and distribute weekly progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Budget Management (Indirect): While not directly responsible for the overall project budget, they ensure that work is performed efficiently to stay within cost parameters and assist with material and equipment orders.
- Liaison and Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact on-site, effectively communicating with architects, engineers, clients, local authorities (for inspections and permits), and other project stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving problems and conflicts quickly and efficiently to keep the project moving forward.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry, specifically with a proven track record in multi-family ground-up or mid-rise projects. Experience with concrete structures and wood-frame construction is often sought after.
