Base pay range $177,000.00/yr - $251,000.00/yr
WWW powers the most valuable parts of Meta’s core business. HHVM is the execution engine for Hack that compiles and runs the entire repository efficiently as it grows and changes. The HHVM team’s mission has long been to execute PHP more efficiently and reduce server costs for the company, all while supporting the runtime reliability of the web fleet. The team’s goals also include company-wide scalability and developer-focused initiatives aimed at better supporting Meta's engineers landing changes each day. The HHVM team is made up of compiler and systems experts. We partner closely with teams supporting WWW infrastructure like the Hack language team, Sandbox Infra, Releng, WWW DevX, HHVM Server, and Web Infra Foundation, among others.
Responsibilities
Grow a team of compiler domain experts, supporting career growth and matching project opportunities
Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects
Develop vision, strategy and help set direction for the team
Remain up-to-date on ongoing software development activities in the team, help work through technical challenges, and be involved in design decisions
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with compiler architecture and development, particularly ML compilers or DSLs or static/dynamic languages compilers
Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management
2+ years of experience in managing a team of compiler engineers of varied skill levels
