Department of Pharmacy Overview The Department of Pharmacy places a priority on teaching, research, and patient care. The department provides acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical, surgical, oncology, and pediatric patients, with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics.

Role Responsibilities

Provide clinical pharmacy services on general medical‑surgical pediatrics floors as the drug expert.

Round with the Neill Team to optimize complex pharmacotherapy regimens.

Perform medication order review and verification for general pediatrics patients.

Comprehensive medication management, interdisciplinary decision making, emergency code response, care coordination, education, policy/procedure development, and research activities.

Deliver drug information and education to patients, students, residents, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners.

Minimum Qualifications

Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland.

Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or certificate deemed appropriate within 2 years of hire.

Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification desired.

Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in a PharmD or BS degree. Completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY‑1 residency program or equivalent experience required.

Completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY‑2 residency program specializing in Pediatrics preferred.

Minimum three years of clinical health‑system experience or equivalent required.

Compensation Salary Range: Minimum 54.59/hour – Maximum 90.15/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
