Electrical Project Engineer - QA/QC (Central Region)

Key Responsibilities
Function as a quality control/quality assurance engineer within the substation quality management group (QMG).
Perform QA/QC of substation design packages, including physical design and protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Collaborate with the substation design team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex projects.
Provide technical guidance on design guides, standards, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies.
Prepare engineering deliverables, perform research, develop recommendations for equipment and materials selection, and manage assigned budget, schedule and quality requirements.
Actively mentor lower‑level professionals, identify successors, and support career planning and learning development.
Preferred Qualifications
Substation QA/QC review experience.
Substation design experience – physical and/or protection & controls.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office programs.
Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads and project managers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
Location U.S. Central Regional Power offices: Kansas City (Overland Park, KS); Houston (TX); Minneapolis (Bloomington, MN); Chicago (IL). Relocation eligible.
