DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under direct supervision of the Tribal Chairman or designate, the Executive Officer will be responsible for the daily operations of the Walker River Paiute Tribe's Tribal Departments and Programs. The Executive Officer will perform duties to carry out the goals and objectives of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and will work within the direction, guidance and render direct assistance to the Tribal Chairman.

The Executive Officer will have overall responsibility for providing administrative support for Tribal Departments and Programs and will supervise program directors.

Develops and maintains working relationship and communications with Tribal Employees, Tribal Chairman, Administrative and program officials to ensure cooperative and effective management within the Tribal Government operations.

Will have direct supervision over multiple programs.

Provide administrative, operations, and project/initiative management to support various departments within the Tribe.

Responsible for the day-to-day administration and organizational compliance and operations of Tribal activities daily and ensure program objectives and deadlines are met.

Responsible for compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies and procedures. Assist in developing operating procedures and performance standards for Tribal Programs.

Reports regularly to the Tribal Chairman concerning the status of the functions of various program, activities and personnel.

Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including drafting letters, spreadsheets, memos, invoices, reports, presentations, and other documents for program directors.

Assists in the annual budget process.

Assist programs for the submissions of financial reports and budgets for funding agencies.

Assists in coordinating payroll processing and time record keeping.

Responsible for recommending and coordinating employee-training programs.

Assist Human Resources with recruitment and interview processes.

Participates and assists in planning tribal events and functions.

Coordinate and schedules monthly director meetings.

Proofread documents and generate red lines and final formatted documents.

Process and approve payments and track department expenditures.

Performs other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Office or related software, be bondable, have excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

Must have some knowledge of Tribal, federal, state, county and local laws, regulations and requirements.

Knowledge of management procedures, human resources, personnel policies and procedures, office practices, public speaking and budgeting.

Management skills including leadership/supervisory skills, and decision-making, planning and organizing, interpersonal sensitivity, management control, adaptability/flexibility, stress tolerance and time management.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with Tribal employees and general public.

Ability to work effectively with individuals and demonstrates leadership and team building skills.

Ability to create and present effective speeches and presentations, analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.

Must be able to attend tribal events and functions.

Must be able to work independently.

Must always maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality.

Must have great communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or an Associates Degree in a related field preferred, or At least 5 years of experience in an executive role, or in a position of equal responsibility.

Must have a valid Nevada Driver's License and be able to be covered under the Tribe's insurance.

Must provide a current DMV Driving Report.

Must successfully pass a background check.

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
