Assistant Store Manager – Goodwill of Southern New England
Full‑time, hourly $20.50 per hour (range $19.56 – $25.33).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in overall store operations, including collections, processing, sales, financial performance, loss control, and personnel management.
Oversee proper handling and processing of incoming and outgoing materials, maximize processing and sales performance through proper techniques and inventory management.
Maintain store floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment; ensure all equipment and premises are in proper working order.
Assist the Store Manager in managing budget, payroll, and cash management procedures.
Ensure store safety, security, and loss prevention, including adherence to all Goodwill policies and CARF standards.
Supervise store associates, shift supervisors, community service workers, and supported employment work crews.
Plan, assign, and direct work for employees and volunteers, as required.
Complete store reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of two years related experience, including supervisory experience; or combination of specialized training or post‑secondary education in a related field and retail experience.
Must be 18 years of age.
Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before individuals or groups.
Mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions.
Reasoning ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
High level of integrity and business ethics.
Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk; lift and move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds; push crates up to 600 pounds; frequent use of hands and arms; ability to handle heavy objects with proper lifting technique.
