Main Responsibilities
Communicate company, department, and job‑specific information to associates.
Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
Train and develop associates on performance of their jobs and participate in the performance appraisal process.
Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
Inform customers of frozen‑food specials.
Display a positive attitude.
Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in‑store promotions especially promotions that affect frozen foods.
Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
Implement the periodic promotional plan for the department.
Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies.
Able to work at any location in the district.
Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Management experience preferred.
Frozen‑food experience.
Retail experience.
Previous inventory management experience.
Physical And General Requirements
Requires an extensive retail background with prior management experience related to retail operations.
Requires strong written and oral communication skills, good leadership and interpersonal skills, the proven ability to manage people and maintain composure with customers and coworkers.
Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices.
Strong business and financial knowledge.
