AWS Edge Connectivity service enables AWS Cloud connectivity options for US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers. These connectivity options allow our customers to deploy and run their isolated, sensitive workloads in an environment exclusive for their use-case. We help our customers to onboard, manage, and scale their connectivity options for maintaining persistent connection to AWS Isolated cloud.
Key responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and implement cloud based services for managing encrypted network connections
Build distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, with ease of management and use.
Influence product direction through data-backed technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impact.
Mentor your teammates, helping to grow and develop their technical and operational skills
Participate in oncall rotation in support of our services
The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
About the team Our team follows the Agile development methodology. Team members participate in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions. We conduct annual program planning and quarterly prioritization meetings to align tasks with organizational goals. Developers, Program Management (PM) team, and Single-Threaded Owners (STOs) collaborate to define and execute these tasks. Each developer serves as on-call support approximately four times per year to maintain our service availability target.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Experience with network Layer2/3 encryption (HAIPE/Ethernet Data Encryption (EDE))
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

Compensation Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on the number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
