Description Senior Structural Engineer Transportation | DRMP
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Responsibilities
Develop structural calculations and produce engineering drawings for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build bridge and transportation projects.
Perform and direct engineering alternatives investigations through data collection and analysis.
Prepare written technical reports.
Support construction phase, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and problem solving.
Train and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
B.S. from an ABET-accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer.
10+ years post registration structural engineering experience.
15+ years relevant bridge design and plans production experience (reinforced concrete, prestressed, steel, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, etc.).
Experience with bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, etc.).
Proficiency in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD or similar platforms.
Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing of multi-discipline bridge projects.
Construction specialty engineering experience is a plus.
Post-tensioning, straddle beam design experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative.
Detail-oriented team player.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
PE or SE certification in Florida or ability to obtain Florida registration.
Familiarity with FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
