What You’ll Do
Organize information for project documents.
Lead bridge projects by creating inspection reports, load rating summaries, concept reports, and location reports.
Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels.
Generate and edit bridge inspection reports.
Develop engineering calculations using spreadsheets and design software packages.
Create engineering drawing details.
Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates.
Develop project specifications.
Review contractor submittals during construction.
Lead bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of bridge inspection, load rating, or design experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Completed NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges or equivalent.
Proficiency in current bridge inspection and management software.
Experience with bridge load rating or analysis software platforms.
Knowledge of bridge design software (SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, LPile).
Experience with MathCAD.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Knowledge of drafting software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
Physically able to work outside in varied weather conditions.
Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Knowledge of state DOT bridge inspection and load rating standards and guidelines.
Completed NHI 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges.
Active certification as a Rope Access Technician through SPRAT.
