What You’ll Do
Organize information for use in project documents
Assist or lead bridge projects by creating inspection reports, load rating summaries, concept reports, and Type, Size and Location reports
Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels
Generate and edit bridge inspection reports
Develop engineering calculations using spreadsheets and various analysis/design software
Develop engineering drawing details
Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates
Assist or lead development of project specifications
Review contractor submittals during construction
Lead bridge rehabilitation and maintenance project tasks as assigned
What You Bring — Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Minimum 5 years of applicable bridge inspection, load rating, and/or design experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Successful completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges, or NHI-approved equivalent
Proficiency in current bridge inspection and management software
Experience with current bridge load rating or analysis software platforms
Knowledge of bridge design software (e.g., SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA, PG Super, Conspan, LPile)
Experience with MathCAD
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Knowledge of drafting software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and communicate effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Knowledge of state DOT bridge inspection and load rating standards
Completed NHI 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges
Active SPRAT Rope Access Technician certification

Potential salary range: $105,000 - $155,000
