Pay Range:
$68,640 annually ($90,000 during the Territory Building Period)
General Description Meet with Credit Union members to advise, develop, recommend, implement and monitor financial planning and investment products and services. Primary products include mutual funds, annuities, 529 plans and life insurance.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with members to define personal and financial goals and develop individual financial plans.
Introduce non‑deposit investment and insurance products while maintaining compliance with NASD, SEC and broker‑dealer standards.
Maintain understanding of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti‑money laundering regulations.
Develop, maintain and update member‑client information in an accurate, compliant manner.
Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and provide recommendations.
Collaborate with branch managers and staff to educate on referral opportunities and encourage referral activity.
Work with the Education Department to conduct investment workshops for management, staff, and members.
Stay current on investment products offered through the broker/dealer.
Prepare and submit weekly activity reports, annual marketing/business plans, quarterly business reviews and other reports on time.
Answer general member questions regarding investments and credit union products.
Promote cross‑referrals or cross‑sales of credit union products when appropriate.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in sales/delivery of personal investment products, with at least 1 year in a financial institution.
Knowledge & Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access; strong oral and written communication; knowledge of credit union rules and regulations.
Licenses & Certifications: California Life & Disability insurance licenses; FINRA Series 7 and 66 registration; Long‑Term Care license; financial planning designation (CFP, CWS, ChFC, AIF, etc.) or plan to obtain within 2 years.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged sitting during workday.
Normal corrected vision; hearing within normal range.
Frequent travel.
Additional Information Employees may be required to perform additional duties as directed by supervisor within his/her abilities.
