Job Overview SJ Janis Company Inc. is seeking a seasoned and motivated Production Manager to lead and coordinate all activities related to residential remodeling projects—from inception to completion. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of Project Managers and Carpenters, ensure timely and budget‑conscious execution, and maintain top‑tier client satisfaction. If you are an experienced construction leader with a passion for building beautiful, functional spaces, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all operations within the Production Department, ensuring jobs meet budget, schedule, and client satisfaction goals.
Consult with Sales and Design teams during pre‑project phases to identify challenges and align on project scopes.
Assign and support Project Managers based on project needs, team availability, and client dynamics.
Verify all permits, orders (windows, doors, cabinetry), and construction documentation are in place before work begins.
Attend and lead in‑house and on‑site pre‑construction conferences.
Monitor job progress through site visits, weekly reviews, and software tracking (BuilderTrend).
Approve labor hours, material purchases, and manage budget forecasts in coordination with leadership.
Oversee trade partnerships, QC checks, punch lists, and change order management.
Conduct post‑project analysis to drive future improvements.
Manage tool inventory, equipment budgets, and shop supply purchases.
Coach and develop production team members through regular reviews, mentorship, and training.
Lead planning meetings and production forecasting to align labor, trade availability, and business goals.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in residential construction management.
Strong background in both rough and finish carpentry, cabinet, door, and window installation and ordering.
Proficient in building codes, scheduling, and construction documentation.
Comfortable using construction management software (BuilderTrend preferred).
Ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams while holding them accountable to company standards.
Must live within 30 miles of Elm Grove, WI.
High school diploma or GED required.
