This role will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical development teams to ensure our web applications meet user needs and business objectives.

Position Description The Business Analyst for Web Application Development will work closely with stakeholders, product managers, UX designers, and development teams to define and document requirements for web-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical understanding and business acumen to effectively translate requirements into functional specifications.

The Role Involves

Gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for web applications

Creating detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications

Developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize web application features

Collaborating with UX/UI designers to ensure interface designs align with business requirements

Working with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements

Conducting gap analysis between current and future state web application functionality

Facilitating requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews

Creating and maintaining project documentation including requirements traceability matrices

Supporting user acceptance testing and quality assurance processes

Analyzing web analytics data to identify areas for improvement

Researching industry trends and best practices in web application development

Participating in agile development ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

Assisting in the development of training materials and documentation for end users

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst specifically focused on web application development

Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and management

Experience working with development teams in agile environments

Required Skills And Competencies

Strong understanding of web application architecture and development processes

Proficiency in requirements elicitation techniques and documentation standards

Experience creating wireframes, user flows, and process diagrams

Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and best practices for web applications

Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Proficiency with requirements management and documentation tools

Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals (not coding proficiency, but understanding of capabilities)

Familiarity with content management systems and web frameworks

Experience with user acceptance testing and quality assurance processes

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Possess and can maintain the required security clearance (TS/SCI).

Desired Skills And Competencies

Understanding of responsive design principles

Understanding of database concepts

Experience with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
